HOLLYWOOD – Just days before his next film, “Cop Out,” comes to a theater near you February 26, writer/director Kevin Smith was abruptly booted from Delta flight 219 Monday when a flight attendant noticed the comedic filmmaker’s trademark spiky hair and hilarious cartoon eyebrows and insisted his raw talent was a “safety hazard” to other passengers.

In a recently released statement, Delta said airplane personnel asked Mr. Smith if he would raise his seat for take-off, but the roly-poly comedienne responded simply by twisting the ends of an imaginary handle-bar-mustache, rolled his eyeballs in opposite directions, and produced a cigarette seemingly out of nowhere, all at once.

“Don’t miss my new comedy about biracial police officers that hits theaters this Friday,” Smith angrily posted on Twitter seconds after the incident.

Smith, 39, originally purchased two tickets as an ironic commentary on consumerism in modern America, but when he decided to fly standby on an earlier flight because he thought it would be an exceedingly zany gesture, only one seat remained. Although he had already been seated, he was asked to leave.

“If a customer cannot refrain from exaggerated shrugging and taking verbal jabs at the idiosyncrasies of air travel, a customer seated adjacent would be laughing way too hard and a timely exit from the aircraft in the event of a hit comedy starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan might be compromised,” Delta said.

This comes just two weeks after Smith was booted off a Southwest flight for writing/directing “Zack and Miri Make a Porno,” which is currently available on Blu-Ray and DVD.
